EXPERT 4-Spring Soundbox
The EXPERT 4-spring soundbox by David Phillips is still considered one of the best acoustic soundboxes ever made. It was used on all the large EXPERT gramophones. It weighs on average, an incredible 220 grams.
Comparing six handmade soundboxes. There are no two exactly the same. The earlier ones had small diaphragms at 42mm compared to the later ones at 46.5mm diameter. Even the stylus bars vary in shape.
