HMV 179. Colonial model

Made in the HMV factory in Dum Dum India

Sold through Marques & Co. Bombay. Delhi-Simla

In Mahagony with a No.32 spring motor and folded metal horn.

It has a large bore swan neck tonearm and a HMV 5b soundbox

All the fittings are in Florentine Bronze

It is similar to the HMV 130 and quite possibly one of the last acoustic table models to be made. The metal grill and cross bars are all original. The finish also is original but the cross bars had been re-finished by the previous owner as in the last picture. I have stained them back to a black finish.
